The Carnival is based on the idea of an imaginary masquerade ball, and as the subtitle "An Interesting Scene in Four Notes" suggests, four autobiographical letters are used as musical ciphers for a total of 21 pieces featuring fictional and real characters. The David's League Dance Collection consists of 18 pieces. The Davidic League refers to the fictional alliance that Schumann, a self-proclaimed Romantic fighter, entrusted to the story of David fighting the Philistines to express himself against the snobbishness of the time, and is dedicated to Goethe's grandson, W.v. Goethe. After graduating from Seoul National University, Au-Haveniet studied at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne and is currently based in Germany. Her recordings include a collection of piano works by Ulrich Leindecker, which she recorded in the 1990s with her future husband, Raymundo Haveniet. Her playing has a depth and maturity, and she plays beautifully on her beloved Bösendorfer.
