The most beautiful collection of piano works related to "Night" French virtuoso Raphael Epstein has recorded piano works related to "Night". The word "night" conjures up images of nocturnes by composers such as Chopin and Fauré, but many other composers have left masterpieces as well. The fifth piece "Nocturne Waltz" and the sixth piece "Event (nocturne)" from the collection of seven dirges composed by Busoni, who is also known as a piano arranger of Bach's Chaconne, are also night-related works, with Busoni's typical technique and rich melodies. The Rachmaninoff arrangement of Mendelssohn's Scherzo from A Midsummer Night's Dream is also noteworthy, and is a masterful arrangement of Mendelssohn's music with a hint of Rachmaninoff. Rafael Epstein studied piano at the Paris Conservatoire and the Panthéon-Sorbonne, and later under the tutelage of Jay Gottlieb. He has won many prizes in competitions.Epstein is also a specialist in the field of chamber music, and in 2016 he formed Trio Slys with flutist Yuko Sugiyama and violinist Ruggiero Capranico.
