Piano Poet Dulcet's Fantasy of the Midnight Sun Jean-Baptiste Dulcet is a French pianist born in 1992. He came to Japan this year for the 2024 Folle Journée Music Festival, where he attracted attention for his interesting attempt to improvise on the piano to Yasujiro Ozu's early silent films. Dulce, who has been called a "poet of the piano" for his unique storytelling style, will take on the challenge of Scandinavian piano music this time. Grieg's "From the Time of Holbea" is well known as a work for string orchestra, but it was originally a piano piece written in 1884. The last two pieces of Sibelius' "Six Improvisations" were also arranged for string orchestra and newly titled "Lyric Andante. You will be drawn into Dulce's world from Nielsen's dream world based on the Christmas carol "Holy This Night" to Grieg's great work filled with sorrowful and sincere emotions. King International
