Dry Cleaning has released "Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks/Sweet Princess", a compilation of two of their early EPs on one disc through 4AD. Both EPs have been remastered for this reissue. As of March 2018, they had released their six-song debut EP, Sweet Princess, with producer Christian Craig Robinson at the Total Refreshment Centre and recorded in just one day. Two months later, in May 2018, the band played their first show at the Shacklewell Arms in Dalston and released the EP in August of the same year. Sweet Princess was a shocking debut, a satirical collage of witty observations and social criticism with dizzying, restless instrumentation and Florence Shaw's wry vocals.Two months later, the band released the six-song Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks EP. The EP is named as a tribute to the band's rehearsal space at bassist Lewis Maynard's family home in South London (Sidcup), as well as to Maynard's mother Susan, whose home-cooked meals supported the four friends between sessions. With singles like "Sit Down Meal" and "Viking Hair," Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks is a strong companion to Sweet Princess. There is a similar energy that pervades both. The same energy that pervades both of these EPs is evident, as they were born in the same environment that produced them, an environment that had a profound influence on the band's formative years.
