He first studied trombone before switching to voice, becoming a member of the Vienna Volksoper in 2005/06, the Frankfurt Opera in the 2007/08 season, and the Aix-en-Provence Festival in July 2009, where he received rave reviews for his performance as Tamino in "The Magic Flute" conducted by René Jacobs. He has been called the best "Mozart singer" of our time. More recently, she has distinguished herself as a soloist in baroque and classical operas and vocal works, as well as a Lieder and Passion evangelist, and made her Bayreuth Festival debut in 2017, singing the acclaimed role of David in Barry Kosky's new production of "Die Meistersinger." His lyrical voice and precise pitch as an expressive Lieder singer, as well as his versatile expressive singing with precise interpretation, have earned him international acclaim, and he has been described as "the second coming of Fritz Wunderlich."
