A collection of works by three composers written between 1945 and 1960! This is a collection of works for violin and piano written between 1945 and 1960 by three composers connected by contemporaneity. Kurt Albrecht (1895-1971), Joachim Schweppe (1926-1999), and Matthias Scheibel (1905-1960) did not have direct contact with each other, but they share the common trait that National Socialism and World War II had a great impact on their lives. National Socialism and the Second World War left their mark on their lives. They had to find their way through the turbulence and ideological camp formation in art and politics after the war. As the genre names of the suites and sonatas make clear, all three works seek to connect with the traditions of the past, but they also reveal an effort to make a personal statement in a contemporary idiom. Gustav Frelinghaus, founder of the Amaryllis String Quartet, and Estonian pianist Jaan Otz released a collection of Kurt Albrecht's works (KKE001) in 2022. Tokyo M-Plus
