Gerald Sherman was born in 1924 in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia), grew up in England, and served in the Royal Air Force during the interwar years before becoming a concert pianist and cultural attaché at the Dutch Embassy. On the recommendation of his composition teacher, Alan Rossohn, he wrote the score for the police movie "The Third Key" starring Jack Hawkins, as well as many other concert works. He has also written music for horror, monster, and action films in the U.S. and U.K. Tokyo M-Plus
