Bach (1685-1750)
Description:
Richard Eger plays the French Suite Richard Eger is known as the "Bernstein of the classical music world" (National Public Radio). He has led orchestras while playing a keyboard instrument at times during his conducting activities, and as a soloist in concertos, freely manipulating organ, harpsichord, fortepiano, and modern piano, and of course as a keyboard soloist, he has given recitals at Carnegie Hall and Wigmore Hall. Egger's versatility and versatility as a soloist and keyboard soloist is unlimited. Now, Eger will perform Bach's French Suites for harpsichord solo. Eger plays the individual pieces of the French Suites, which vary from lovely to heavy, with great tenderness. All of the repetitions are implemented, and Egger's fluid and naturalistic ornaments are also appealing. Also of interest is the inclusion of the Minuet II (found in a few later manuscripts), which is not included in the commonly performed version of No. 2 in C minor, BWV 813, as well as an alternate version of the Courant. Egger, who has also conducted various drafts of the John and Matthew Passions, says that when several drafts of Bach's works exist, he prefers the earlier drafts, which are more powerful and vivid.Egger's flexible sensibilities are fascinating.
