This is one piece that gives a glimpse of the Bach family's activities over a period of about 150 years. Track 1 is an uncle of Bach the Great's father; tracks 2-4 are the children of Heinrich Bach, uncle of Bach the Great's father (different from 1); tracks 5-6 are cousins of Bach the Great's father and father of his first wife Maria Barbara; track 7, Johann Christoph Altonicol, originally a student of Bach's, daughter of Bach and Anna who married Elisabeth Juliana Friderica and who, with her mother-in-law Anna Magdalena, edited the second volume of the Mean Clavier cycle. Track 8 is the fifth son of the great Bach. Although they belong to the same family, their styles are still very individualistic.
