Description:

A new two-disc best-of set from Engelbert Humperdinck, the world-renowned singer who has sold more than 140 million records in his 50+ year career, surpassing Adele, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. This best-of set celebrates 50 years since the release of his signature song "Release Me" and includes two new songs! (Humperdinck has produced 64 gold albums, 23 platinum albums, and was named Entertainer of the Year at the Golden Globe Awards. He has 35 greatest hits plus two new songs, "I Followed My Heart" and "I Don't Want To Call It Goodbye," which have his own elegant and charismatic charm as well as the rest of his songs. The two new songs are dedicated to his wife of 50 years, Patricia. The hit song "Release Me" spent six consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the UK charts in 1967, beating out the Beatles' "Penny Lane" for the No. 1 position and becoming the best-selling single in the UK that year, and spent 56 consecutive weeks on the UK charts, reaching No. 1 in 11 countries. Engelbert Humperdinck is the youngest of 10 children, originally from Leicester, England, but lived in India until the age of 10. From an early age, his parents and siblings took good care of him, and he often sang harmony, but gradually the power of his voice surprised both his confidence and those around him. I had a very loud voice," she said. I discovered that I could sing softly at the same time," Engelbert said. Engelbert began studying music and saxophone at the age of 11, and at 17 began singing in pubs and other venues. In 1959, he released the single "Crazybells/ Mister Music Man" on Decca Records. At that time, he made his debut under his real name, Arnold George Dorsey, but after a six-month absence due to tuberculosis, he was not successful and made a comeback under a new stage name, Engelbert Humperdinck. People were immediately attracted to his visuals and songs, and he became the face of the 60s. He became good friends with Elvis Presley and they even sang each other's songs. This is a great best of Engelbert's songs, including new songs, that still deeply touch people's hearts.
