Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention

Description:

The Mothers of Invention's legendary concert at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood on July 23, 1968, is now available as a must-have live album for fans of the band. The album consists of three CDs, a 40-page booklet in English, and a Japanese booklet. This album is a complete collection of songs carefully selected and performed by the Mothers of Invention after 55 years. The sound sources used are the original master tapes, digitally converted in high-resolution quality, and newly remixed. This historic performance, once again unearthed from the tape vaults, reminds us what a special group the 'original' Mothers of Invention was. - Joe Travers (Zappa's family's tape warehouse keeper)The legendary three-stage concert that Zappa led the "Original Mothers" until 1969 to record their new album in July of 1968 is now available in its entirety in the best possible sound quality. This is the only album at this time that allows you to enjoy nearly three hours of uninterrupted live performances by the band's founding members, including Ray Collins (vocalist), who was also a key member of the group. In addition to the group's signature songs such as "Hungry Freaks, Daddy," "America Drinks and Goes Home," "Plastic People," "King Kong," and "Brown Shoes Don't Make It," which was performed live for the first time on this day, the band also performed "Whiskey Improvisation," "The Rise of the Whiskey Improvisation," and "The Rise of the Whiskey Improvisation. Whiskey Improvisation," a three-track improvisation that encapsulates the charm of the Mathers at the time. This package allows you to relive a major event that even members of The Rolling Stones had visited. Some of the tracks feature guest appearances by the brilliant Kim Foley and the GTO's, who made their debut as Zappa's producers. Although a few takes were used in "Uncle Meat" (1969), "Meet Light" (1964), and "ZAPPA (Original Soundtrack)" (2009), the majority of the tracks on the album are completely unreleased and treasured. The live show features the latest masters, newly mixed by Craig Parker Adams (Winslow Connecticut Studios) from the original multitrack tapes and mastered by John Polito (Audio Mechanics). Bonus tracks include "The Whip" and a "vintage mix" of "Hungry Freaks, Daddy," which Zappa himself would have made with the official release in mind. The English-language booklet includes liner notes by Joe Travers (Zappa's family tape warehouse manager), a memoir by former GTO's member Pamela De Barr, a conversation between Alice Cooper and Zappa's son, Ahmet Zappa, who was at the show, and treasured photos by George Rodriguez. Includes many rare and valuable documents. <Includes complete translation of the English liner, lyrics, MC and their translations.
