BEYOND THE STANDARD" is a recording project started in April 2018 on Nippon Columbia's DENON label by the young Italian conductor Andrea Battistoni and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. This is the third in a series of recordings that will couple masterpieces from the classical royal road with masterpieces by Japanese composers, transcending time and country to set a new standard. Beethoven: Symphony No. 5 "Destiny," which has been featured in concerts in the past. The super-standard number "Fate," which will be meticulously constructed because it is a session recording, is expected to be an important piece for this series. The coupling piece will be Takashi Yoshimatsu's "Cyberbird Concerto" with Kohei Ueno as soloist. This will be Ueno's first concerto recording, and expectations are high for the session that will unfold with Battistoni, who will be performing with him for the first time. Ueno's close friend Atsushi Yamanaka on piano and Shun Ishiwaka, who is popular in the Jazz world, will be invited to form a trio. (C)RS
