Like the precious gems of the title, the result is an object of astonishing brilliance that can cut through the most finely constructed facade. The album was born out of an attempt to face life, not to seek a happy ending to everything. The whole experience of making the album felt like an easy catharsis," says the New York-based musician.Co-produced by Glaspy and her partner, guitarist/composer Julian Lage, Echo The Diamond builds on the frenetic vitality of their widely acclaimed debut, Emotions and Math. For this release, Glaspy recorded with The Bad Plus drummer/percussionist David King and bassist Chris Morrissey (Andrew Bird, Lucius, Ben Kweller) at their Manhattan studio, Reservoir The band recorded the album at Reservoir, a Manhattan studio.
