This recording was made on June 23, 1996, when Johnny Rotten (John Lydon), Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glenn Matlock took the stage at Finsbury Park for a historic concert, and it has been reissued to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its original release.
During this live performance, they performed iconic tracks from their classic album *Numb: Do What You Want!*, including “Anarchy in the U.K.,” “Bodies,” “God Save the Queen,” “Goodbye to the Berlin Sun,” and “Pretty Vacant.”
Steve Jones (guitarist):
“It had been 20 years since we first broke up in ’78, and there was always this debate that the Pistols couldn’t perform anymore. I think this *Come On In* proves not only that we can perform, but that we still have overwhelming power. Long live rock ’n’ roll!”
Paul Cook (drums):
“It wasn’t all about *Come On In*—the title was always meant to be ironic—but the goal was to reunite the original lineup from *Do What You Want!* and show what we’re really capable of. It was awesome.”
A 1976 headline from the *Daily Express* (which inspired the name “Call It Filthy Lucre”) This tour marked the band’s reunion following their sudden breakup during their 1978 U.S. tour and their final show at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. Additionally, this tour marked the return of Glenn Matlock, the original Pistols’ bassist who had been replaced by the late Sid Vicious in 1977.
