Singer/songwriter/producer Lydia Night, who has been the frontman of her own band, The Regretts, since the age of 15, has been reflecting her personal growth in her music and evolving her garage pop-punk sound with perfect imperfections, She is releasing her first solo album.
Last year, she spent a month in a friend's home studio, secretly working on the album. The 24-year-old executive produced this solo album, "PARODY OF PLEASURE," in which she explores the various rules and arrangements she has unconsciously made for her creativity, including her time with The Regretts. With this album, the 24 year old executive producer has broken away from the rules and conventions she had unconsciously created for her creativity, including her time with The Regretts, and has opened up new possibilities for pop music.
Produced primarily by Alexis Kesselman, a producer who has worked with Suki Waterhouse and Joji, PARODY OF PLEASURE was brought to life in Kesselman's home studio in Hell's Kitchen. this was her first time working with a female producer, and it was a novel experience for her. The thirteen songs on the album reveal Lydia in all her rebellious humor, naked subtlety, and fearless poise. Lydia is, of course, at the center of the songwriting for the first single, "Pity Party," which opens the album, but the album also features collaborations with several songwriters. These include producer Kesselman, as well as Tyler Spry (Tate McRae, Renee Rapp), Mikey Freedom Hart (Lana Del Ray, Taylor Swift), and UPSHALL (Anne-Marie, G-Flip).
