Description:
William Brand was born in Princeton in 1947. He studied at the Peabody Conservatory of Music and is the author of 24 piano sonatas and 100 solo guitar pieces. He is also a painter and writer. Sonata No. 6 is a pictorial and descriptive sonata in which each movement has its own title and origin, making it easy to understand the composer's intentions. Sonata No. 15 also has its own unique origin and conception for each movement, and is more Romantic than contemporary. The Russian waltz, the rhapsodic nocturne, and the rhapsody based on Godshalk's "Memories of Puerto Rico. Kevin Gorman, piano, studied at the Crane School of Music and the University of Montreal. He won first prize at the Zaguenay Kingdom Music Festival. He currently teaches at Dickinson College, Gettysburg College, the Sunderman School of Music, and the Cumberland Valley Conservatory.
