Recorded live at 3Olympia, Dublin on March 8, 2022. When Kodaline took the stage at Dublin's cozy, sold-out 3Olympia Theatre, vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Steve Garrigan, bassist/vocalist Jason Boland, guitarist/vocalist Mark Prendergast, and drummer /Vocalist Vinnie Mae experienced a sense of release after nearly two years of separation from the band members and fans due to the pandemic, and recognized the true importance of friendship, brotherhood, musical community, and the symbiotic relationship with their audience that they have painstakingly built since 2005. This 17-song album is full of such liberation and was produced by Irishman Philip Magee, and includes over 80 minutes of music, including some of Codaline's most treasured songs and three fascinating covers. Known for their soaring pop-rock anthems and lush, wistful ballads that have topped radio and streaming charts around the world, Kodaline will be joined for this special performance by cellist David Doyle and keyboardist/vocalist David Prendergast also joined the band to help add quality and depth to the warm living room sound with the use of sound equipment. Though quiet, the band's emotional lyrics and intricately woven harmonies are brought to the forefront, further accentuating their poignant resonance. The band's latest album, "One Day At A Time," includes the lead track "Wherever You Are," "Brother" from their third album, "Politics of Living," and "High Hopes," the lead track from their debut, "In A Perfect World," among many others. The band also delivers a brooding, dramatic take on Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" here, an almost a cappella rendition of Sam Cooke's soul classic "Bring It On Home to Me," and the near-Irish standard popularized by The Dubliners and The Pogues, " A rare cover of "Dirty Old Town" is included. It is a magnificent showcase of the purity of their artistry and the musical influences they have had across generations, a work of their vulnerable, simple, and essential charm.
