She & Him, a duo led by Hollywood actor Zooey Deschanel, has released its first album in six years! This album is a tribute to Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. On July 22, She & Him, the duo led by Hollywood actor Zooey Deschanel, will release their seventh studio album, "Melt Away: A Tribute to Brian Wilson," a tribute to one of the greatest living American songwriters, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. Wilson, one of America's greatest living songwriters. Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward have selected classic and overlooked songs from legendary artist Brian Wilson's vast body of work and added fascinating new arrangements. Brian Wilson joins the band on the album track "Do It Again," and the band has developed a friendship with Wilson over the years. She & Him has experience as a guest vocalist on Brian Wilson's album "No Pier Pressure" (2015).'In the spring of 2020 we started making a list of Brian's favorite songs. It's a very long list. We chose songs without any consideration of chart performance. The obscure songs struck us just as much as the popular ones, and we thought they were all perfect for re-imagining, re-interpreting, and re-creating. Brian writes the most beautiful, lonely, vulnerable songs of anyone. And juxtaposed with popular songs of confidence, love, and fun, they paint a more complete picture of life on earth," they commented. The single "Darlin'" is a cover of the Beach Boys' 1967 hit single. The music video for "Darlin'," the album's first single, was inspired by a shopping show directed by Lara Jean Gallagher. In the music video for "Darlin'," a fitting introduction to the album, the two sing lead vocals while doing their best to sell manicures.
