Robert Glasper's first album with Loma Vista. Robert Glasper called up a group of artists on short notice for a heated two-day session. Robert Glasper, who has been a core artist at Blue Note Records, has moved to Loma Vista, a Concord label, and this is his first album. Glasper is supported by Derrick Hodge (b) and Chris Dave (ds), who played on the hit 2012 album Black Radio and were both in Japan for SUMMER SONIC 2019.On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, Robert Glasper said, "I booked the studio this weekend. I've booked a studio this weekend." and sent a short email to Derrick Hodge and Chris Dave, and they gathered at the studio that weekend. Glasper called on other friends, and by 2:00AM on Sunday, May 19, the trio and friends had recorded about 20 songs. This mixtape is the result of that recording. It has been about 8 years since "Black Radio" since Robert Glasper, Derrick Hodge, and Chris Dave got together to record.
