Description:
Ginger Baker had been a member of Hawkwind for a short time in 1980 and left the band soon after participating in the "Levitation" album. However, Baker's manager was planning a tour as Hawkwind for March 1981. Baker decided to form a new band and tour that tour with his own band, and the new band formed the "Ginger Baker Nutters. It featured Keith Hale of Hawkwind, old friend Riki Legere, and former Burlesque members Ian Trimmer and Billy Jenkins. The band's sound is a mix of jazz, blues, and rock, with lyrics that have a Monty Python-like British sense of humor, similar to that of Burlesque. After the Italian tour, the band continued to add new songs to their repertoire. This album is an audio and video recording of a live performance at the Marquee Club in London in May 1981, which was lost until 2023, and has now been extensively restored and released.
