Description:
Early works and late masterpieces. Ingmar Lazar recorded the piano works of César Franck (1822-1890), who celebrated the bicentennial of his birth in 2022. The concert was a great success. The following year, he moved to Paris with his father and entered the Paris Conservatory. It was during this period that Franck composed his first piano sonata in three movements. This work shows strong influences from classical composers, but it also shows that the 13-year-old Franck was a child prodigy as a composer as well. Franck showed a deep interest in the organ from 1840 onward, and left many representative works in his later years. The "Prelude, Aria and Finale" and "Prelude, Chorale and Fugue" are representative of his piano works. Ingmar Lazar, born in 1993 in Saint-Cloud, a suburb of Paris, gives an emotionally rich performance of these works. King International
