Annual Berliner Philharmoniker's Gillvester Concert 2015 Soloist is Anne Sofie Mutter! The annual New Year's Eve Berliner Philharmoniker's Gillvester Concert is, along with the Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Concert, one of the most popular concerts that classical music fans name as a must-see live at least once. 2015's theme is "French Esprit". Chabrier, Saint-Saëns, Ravel, and Poulenc were chosen for the program, with the French spirit at the forefront. The program includes the witty overture to Chabrier's operetta "Etoile," Massenet's opera "Le Cid" about a young Spanish hero, full of the joys of life, and Ravel's sumptuous and glittering "La Valse" and a series of gorgeous dance music to end the year. The music will be performed one after the other.The guest performer will be Anne Sophie Mutter, the queen of the violin world, performing Saint-Saens' "Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso" and Ravel's "Tzigane". Both performances will allow the audience to enjoy her charms to the fullest. Mutter's relationship with the Berliner Philharmoniker is probably due to her relationship with the emperor, Karajan. At the age of 13, Mutter's talent was recognized by Karajan, and she performed with him and the Berlin Philharmonic at the Salzburg Easter Festival in 1977.
