Kirill Karabits & the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra will perform the complete Prokofiev symphonies! The young Ukrainian maestro Kirill Karabits, who has been attracting attention with his Russian programs such as "Tchaikovsky (ONYX 4074)" and "Britten & Shostakovich ( ONYX 4113)," will finally perform with the Russian Symphony Orchestra. At last, the great Russian symphony, Prokofiev's complete symphonies, will be presented! Prokofiev was born in Ukraine (then Russian territory), the same country as Karabits, and he seems to have deep feelings for the country.The project will include not only symphonic works, but also rare Prokofiev works and works from the Ukrainian period, and the booklet will include an interview with Daniel Jaffe, a Prokofiev expert. This is a highly significant cycle. This first volume also includes both endings of Symphony No. 7, which is known to have two different endings. The ending of the Symphony No. 7, which Prokofiev envisioned the year before his death as if he would quietly disappear, and the ending of the Symphony No. 7 with criticism from the Soviet authorities. The other is the bright, flamboyant (sometimes even "boisterous") ending that Prokofiev prepared for the Soviet authorities to criticize him.
