Description:
Until his death in 2011, Jerry found time to work on his next new album. After his death, his daughter, Martha Lafferty, found a number of demos left by her father and, following his wishes, completed the album that was still in production. The result is "Rest in Blue," which appears here. The album was created with the help of many of the artists and musicians who had worked with Jerry, and it is an album that captures the raw emotions of folk, rock, and blues, with many layers of synthesizers. The result is an album of raw emotion, folk, rock, and blues, all encapsulated in a single work of art. The demo recordings were recorded at various times throughout Jerry's career and brought back to life in the present day, and "Rest in Blue" tells a story that seems to capture the essence of each era.In addition to original songs from Jerry's pen, such as "Sign Of The Times," which expresses concern about climate change, "Lost Highway," which questions the legitimacy of war, and "Still In Denial," which talks about alcoholism, this album includes traditional folk songs such as "Wild Mountain Thyme" and "Dirty Old Town. In addition to traditional folk songs like "Wild Mountain Thyme" and "Dirty Old Town," a cover of Richard and Linda Thompson's "It's Just The Motion," and a self-cover of the Steeler's Wheel hit "Stuck In The Middle With You," which was recorded in the 1990s. The 14 songs on this album are a perfect showcase of his talents, including a cover of Richard & Linda Thompson's "It's Just The Motion" and a self-titled cover of Steelers Wheel's hit "Stuck In The Middle With You," a song that was recorded in the 1990s. The musicians/artists featured on the album are many of Jerry's allies who have worked with him throughout his career. The album features a number of musicians/artists who have worked with Jerry throughout his career, including guitarist Hugh Burns, who performed a powerful guitar solo on "Foggy Baker Street" and has played on many of Jerry's albums, vocalist Katie Kissoon, known for her work with Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, George Michael, and many others, and Alan Curtis of Dire Straits, who played on the album with Jerry on his first solo album, "The Last Time I Saw a Man". The gathering of longtime collaborators such as Dire Straits' Alan Clarke is another major point worth mentioning on this album. The striking artwork is also by Jerry's friend John Byrne. (2/2)
