Young Russian quartet studied with Sheberlin! The second Tchaikovsky! String Quartet No. 3 and "Memories of Florence"! RUSQUARTET is a Russian string quartet formed in 2001 at the Central Music School attached to the Moscow Conservatory. In 2006, the quartet won the first prize at a competition in Germany (Rheinsberg) commemorating the 100th anniversary of Shostakovich's birth, and also won the first prize at the Banff International String Competition. He has also won prizes at the Banff International String Quartet Competition (Canada), the Shostakovich International String Quartet Competition (Russia), and the Tromp International Music Competition (Netherlands). This is their second Tchaikovsky album, following their previous album (KTC 1598), which was highly acclaimed for its high standard of technique and musicality. The rich talent nurtured by Scheberlin is on display in the String Quartet No. 3 and the masterpiece "Memories of Florence," written for string sextet. Tokyo M-Plus
