The legendary soprano Maria Cristina Kiel and the rising tenor star Honatan Alvarado will sing the songs of the vihuela! Celebrate the 500th anniversary of his death with transcriptions for voice and bihuela of some of Josquin des Prez's most important works. Following Cantica Sinfonia's Stabat Mater (PGCDP31909) and Grand Lavoie's The Man Who Died and Still Lives (PGCDP32117), this is the third release by Glossa to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Josquin de Pre's death! Buenos Aires, Argentina-born bihuellist Ariel Abramovich teams up with legendary old-time soprano Maria Cristina Kiel, also from Argentina, and rising star tenor (& lutenist) Honatan Alvarado to transcribe some of Josquin des Prez's most important works. transcription of some of Josquin des Prez's most important works.Following in the tradition of the composers who built the vihuela repertoire in the 16th century (Fuenliana, Narvaez, Pisador, etc.), and based on adaptations (adaptations) of the great polyphonic works of the time, this is a unique approach that brings Josquin into the Iberian light.
