Following Handel (GCD 922904) comes an album of opera arias by Francesco Gasparini (1661-1727), an Italian Baroque composer who studied composition from Corelli and Pasquini, and served as choirmaster of the Pietà Academy and music director of San Lorenzo in Luchina Church! Invernizzi, who has been acclaimed for his outstanding voice and excellent programs, has sung works by 18th century soprano Faustina Bordoni and castrato Domenico Ghizzi, and will sing some of Gasparini's unknown operatic arias, oratorios, and cantatas. Invernizzi will sing some of Gasparini's best-known operatic arias, oratorios and works from his cantatas.Founded in 1997 by baroque flutist Carlo Ipata, Ausel Musici has established itself as one of Italy's premier old music ensembles, and its knowledge of Gasparini is impeccable, with a recording of the complete Gasparini opera "Bayazetto" in 2014 (GCD923504). Carlo Ippata's graceful flauto traverso sound is also featured in the "Flute Concerto," said to have been composed during his time at the Pieta Academy (Pieta Foster Home). Tokyo M-Plus
