Description:
First appearance of Lee Fagiolini! 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death! Founded by Robert Hollingworth at Oxford University in 1986 and awarded the "Ensemble Award" by the Royal Philharmonic Society in May 2006, the British ensemble Lee Fagiolini is celebrating the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death with its first appearance on The Sixteen's own Coro label! Shaping the Invisible is a touring and recording project commemorating the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death in 2019. The program will focus on Leonardo da Vinci, a man who made tremendous achievements not only as an artist but also as a genius in all fields, including music, architecture, astronomy, and mathematics, with works ranging from Victoria and Tallis to Bach, Monteverdi, and contemporary works. Conceived by da Vinci expert Martin Kemp, a professor at Oxford University, the program ties together his great achievements in art, music, and science.Shaping the invisible," which is also the project title, was written for this project by Adrian Williams, a British composer who studied at Lenox Berklee. The full-color booklet (in English) describes the history and relationship between music and art, along with works by da Vinci. Tokyo M-Plus
