Androu Parrott and the Tavanagh Consort Players, who have pioneered the period technique, including the adoption of "OVPP (One Voice Per Part)" proposed by Joshua Rifkin from early on, will appear on AVIE! AVIE! The program is the world premiere recording of the completely restored version of J.S. Bach's "Funeral Music BWV.244a" composed in memory of Leopold, Marquis of Köthen! In 1717, Leopold, Marquis of Köthen, took 32-year-old J.S. Bach under his wing as court music director and supported his musical activities.This is the world premiere recording and complete restoration of "Funeral Music BWV.244a," composed for Bach's benefactor who passed away at the age of 34 in 1728, five years after Bach moved to Leipzig! Funeral Music BWV.244a" is known as a parody of the "Matthew Passion," but its entire content has been shrouded in secrecy due to the disappearance of its score.
