Mahler: Symphonies No. 7 and No. 8 The fourth installment of the complete Mahler cycle by Paavo Järvi and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra! Symphony of a Thousand. Pervo is particularly fond of Mahler's Symphony No. 7 among his symphonies. It is generally performed less often than the others, and it incorporates new instruments such as mandolin, guitar, and cowbell, making the whole piece difficult to see and understand. Pavo, however, shares Mahler's attitude in bringing this work to the world, saying that he likes the "I do what I want to do" stance very much and feels a certain positivity in it.This is evident in Pervo's performance, which clarifies the brilliance that Mahler entrusted to the work, and Pervo's penetrating perspective gives way to the work's complex structure. No. 8, on the other hand, Pavo describes as a nightmare. In fact, it is called the "Symphony of a Thousand," with some 300 people lined up on stage, and the video shows it in all its glory. Parvo says, "'Magnificent No. 5,' 'tragic No. 6,' 'bitter No. 7,' and then back to normal with No. 8. Some criticize the work as a barrage of past successes, but it is a work that expresses Mahler's desire to be loved as he was, based on the themes of confession and redemption.'' Pavo's interpretation of the theme of redemption in the second part is not religious, but rather focuses on the personal perspective of Mahler's mother, Alma, Grätchen, and the women involved, who sought unconditional love, and he skillfully uses female, male, and boy choruses to make it a moving experience.
