C-major label has begun releasing the Mahler Cycle by Paavo Järvi and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. This series was recorded live at the "Rheingau Music Festival. This music festival is held every summer in Rheingau, a small town on the banks of the Rhine in Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany, which started in 1988. The Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra was internationally acclaimed during the Inbal era for its recordings of Mahler's complete works, a tradition that has been revived since Järvi took over.Speaking of Paavo Järvi and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra's Mahler, a CD of their 2009 recording has already been released, solidifying their reputation for clear musical interpretation. In No. 1 "Titan," the complex melodic lines are clearly and carefully rendered, the cuckoo motive in the first movement is full of life, and the members of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra are actively building the music. In the finale, full of momentum and exuberance, the orchestra built up a three-dimensional sound with the ups and downs of the music, and the performance was of a very high level. In No. 2, "Resurrection," Järvi's consistent interpretation and vital performance more than demonstrated his prowess as a conductor. Tilling and Persikivi's singing is also convincing and full of compassion and faith. The togetherness of the chorus in the finale is moving and beautiful harmonies are created.
