Dan Romer’s score for *A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms* is undoubtedly one of the best works of the year. This Emmy®-nominated score is intimate, beautiful, and deeply moving in a way that is rarely achieved in recent television drama music. This work draws heavily on the scores of Ennio Morricone’s Spaghetti Westerns, as well as the medieval folk music that inspired the series. Rather than the grand orchestrations heard in *Game of Thrones* or *House of the Dragon*, Dan Romer creates a stunning soundscape that, while more restrained in its use of instruments—featuring plucked guitar strings, fiddles, and abundant whistling—is in no way inferior. As a result, *The Night of the Seven Kingdoms* has established a firm foothold as a unique musical world of its own. At the same time, Romer masterfully incorporates Ramin Djawadi’s iconic *Game of Thrones* theme into pivotal moments of the score, creating a thrilling effect. The vinyl edition features a gatefold jacket enclosed in a printed, interactive PET sleeve, adorned with breathtakingly beautiful portraits of the album’s eight main characters, created by Greg Ruth.
