Description:
The powerful "From the New World" and the gorgeous Copland! Dazzling and resounding sound! Burning power! Gianandrea Noseda is internationally acclaimed as a conductor of opera and as a symphony conductor. The Washington National Symphony Orchestra, of which Noseda is the 7th Music Director, has launched its own label! The first release is "New World. The coupling is Copland, as befits an American orchestra. The Washington National Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1931 and continues to make its presence felt as "America's presidential city orchestra. It is one of America's premier orchestras, giving more than 150 concerts annually, including official celebrations and concerts at the Kennedy Center. Noseda first performed with the Washington National Symphony Orchestra in 2011, where he was impressed by the orchestra's capabilities, and was appointed Music Director in the 2016 season, and in his first concert at Carnegie Hall after his appointment in May 2019, he was impressed by the orchestra's chemistry and its ability to draw out the orchestra's fundamental strengths. Noseda's music, which draws out the orchestra's fundamental strengths, was highly acclaimed.Past conductors include Hans Kindler (1931-1949), Howard Mitchell (1949-1969), Antal Dorati (1970-1977), Mstislav Rostropovich (1977-1994), Leonard Slatkin (1996-2008), Ivan Fischer (2008-2009 (as chief conductor)), Christoph Eschenbach (2010-2016), and Gianandrea Noseda has served as music director since 2016. Copland's "Billy the Kid" is a work that also features a large orchestra and a variety of percussion. The trumpet solo is a spectacular work, with many highlights for each player. From the New World" was written during Dvořák's stay in the United States. It is an appropriate selection for a new beginning of an American orchestra. The performance was one in which Noseda and the orchestra were truly one and the same. The sound is gorgeous, dazzling, and compelling. King International
