New recording of the famous "Linda of Chamonix" from "The Light of This Heart," featuring an excellent cast and using a critical edition! Donizetti's "Linda of Chamonix" is famous for the popular aria "The Light of My Heart," which is frequently sung in recitals and aria collections. The popularity of this work has increased in recent years, and the entire work has been performed in many performances. This recording is a live performance of a new production in Donizetti's home town of Bergamo in September 2009. The heroine, Linda, is an Irish prima donna, Majella Kuller (name pronunciation confirmed by a British staff member who knows her). She is currently very popular in the UK as a soprano for Donizetti and Bellini. Iuliano is a young tenor who sang Nemorino in "The Wonderful Medicine of Love" at the Donizetti Theater in Japan in January 2010. Altomare is a mid-career baritone who sang Germont with Devia in "Traviata" at the same performance. Another feature of this recording is the instruments played by Pierotto.Strings and hurdy-gurdy are usually used, but this time a bandoneon-like instrument called the English concertina was used.
