Riccardo Minaj's vivid performance of "The Four Seasons" by the Orchestra La Scintilla is vivid and powerful! Riccardo Minaj is a violinist and conductor. In recent years he has rapidly gained a reputation as one of the most exciting talents in Europe. As a violinist, Riccardo Minaj has played first violin in many prestigious period instrument ensembles, including Savall's Concerto de Nación, Concerto Italiano, and Accademia Visantina. She also served as assistant to the conductor of the Orchestre La Scintilla and first violin in the recording of Bartoli's "Norma". This recording is with the La Scintilla Orchestra, based at the Zurich Opera House. Both ensembles had a concert series during the 2018/19 season, featuring works from a wide range of periods. Here we have two "Four Seasons" recordings, Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" with Riccardo Minaj playing solo violin, and the ballet music "The Four Seasons" from Verdi's opera "Evening Prayer in Sicily".Vivaldi is played brilliantly by a gorgeous soloist heard in Riccardo Minaj's beautiful voice and a varied ensemble that is sometimes aggressive, sometimes elegant. Verdi's "The Four Seasons" is performed in the third act of "Evening Prayer in Sicily," also titled after the four seasons. The Orchestre La Scintilla, which has extensive experience performing at opera houses, makes music that is full of emotion and dynamism, and is a pleasure to listen to. King International
