The seemingly unrelated "The Dream of Suleiman the Great" is also a text related to the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem. The warp thread of history and the weft thread of Savard's performance, which evokes a meditative quest, combine to lead the listener's thoughts, inspired not by knowledge but by the ear, effortlessly to a desire for peace. This is where I feel the depth of the power of music.The fanfares at the beginning and end, composed by Savard and featuring a core of shofars (horn trumpets), give the recording a solemnity, and the inclusion of the 1950 The inclusion of these historical recordings makes one think about the unfathomable weight of reality.
