The sound of the brave German horn! A collection of hunting music. The German horns are led by Michael Herzl. Detmold Hornisten Michael Herzl, who sadly passed away in 2017, was one of the most famous German horn players and pedagogues. He was born in Tübingen in 1936, was the principal horn player of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra in the 1960s, and in the 1970s was the principal horn player of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra for many years before becoming a professor at the Detmold University of Music. He was also a teacher of the brilliant Vlatkovic, who was a great horn player and a great supporter of the German horn world. The Detmold Hornisten is a thirteen-member horn ensemble, which is composed of virtuoso musicians, including teachers at music universities, and which Hetzel himself plays and conducts.
