The Stuttgart Himnus Boys Choir, a warm and beautiful chorus with traditional German polyphony, was inspired by the famous boys choirs of Leipzig and Dresden and was founded in 1900 with the help of Paul von Leffler, one of the most prominent promoters in the Swabian region at the time. He was a member as a boy. In 1946, the orchestra was re-established by Gerhard Wilhelm, who had been a member of the group as a boy, and under his leadership it achieved worldwide fame. Their latest recording is a religious choral work by Schütz. The instrumental ensemble is Musica Fiata conducted by Roland Wilson, and Schütz's distinctive, traditional German polyphony is presented.
