The album's title, "Songs of the Night," suggests the true driving force behind Bonvecchio's compositional work: reflections on people, actions, and emotions in the unseen aspects of life.Central to Bonvecchio's artistry is his understanding of and involvement with a variety of composers and styles, from Mahler, Strauss, and Stravinsky to Gershwin, Adams, and Ellington; his openness to popular genres; his mastery of orchestration; his fusion of jazz and classical Composers known for their fusion of jazz and classical music. The album includes a sonata that concentrates the saxophone's appeal with its echoes of Russian and French traditions, its kaleidoscopic harmonic textures, and its jazz and Latin sounds; four paintings of trombone melodies and piano dialogues; and a work by a monumental composer in the history of music, the famous Gershwin. The famous melody from Gershwin's masterpiece "Porgy and Bess" is arranged in the form of a suite. The finale of the album is decorated with percussion elements of piano, heavy bass trombone, and melancholic saxophone and clarinet tones. Recorded in March 2024 in Italy. (Tokyo M-Plus)
