The "Chaconne," which is his specialty, is truly a masterpiece, and you will experience 12 minutes of tension as if you were in bondage. In addition, the program features works by 20th- and 21st-century composers inspired by Bach's unaccompanied partitas. The Auerbach work is dedicated to Gruzman, and although it does not quote from Bach, it is a work with a rich spiritual influence. Ysaye's masterpiece also has the flavor of modern Bach.
