Brautiham's 15th Beethoven piece is the Diabelli Variations! The 15th volume of the Beethoven series of Beethoven's complete works for solo piano by Ronald Brautigam, a brilliant fortepiano player, is themed "Variations. The theme of this album is "Variations," and it includes the Diabelli Variations, Op.120, and the Variations on Six National Anthems, Op.105. The Diabelli Variations, Beethoven's late masterpiece, is a long work consisting of 33 variations, but Brautigheim's sparkling touch and emotional performance make the 48.5-minute performance seem like a blink of an eye. The instrument is a replica made in 1822. The instrument is a replica of a fortepiano made by Paul McNulty in 1822. McNulty is not only a man who studies old instruments and creates new ones, but playing his replica gives me new inspiration in terms of interpretation," said Brautigam about playing and recording on a McNulty-made instrument.
