Description:

The second string quartet led by Ning Feng, the genius who won the Paganini Competition! Ning Feng, born in China and now based in Berlin, has won prizes at prestigious competitions such as the Hanover International Violin Competition, Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition, and the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in 2005. In 2005, she won the first prize at the Michael Hill International Violin Competition, and in 2006, she won the first prize at the Paganini International Violin Competition. The Dragon Quartet is led by Ning Feng, and includes Qin Liwei, a silver medalist at the International Tchaikovsky Competition; Wang Xiaomao, concertmaster of the Central Ballet Orchestra of China; Zhen Zheng, principal violist of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra; and Wang Xiaomao, concertmaster of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble was formed in 2012 by star Chinese artists such as Qin Liwei, viola player; Wang Xiaomao, concertmaster of the Chinese Central Ballet Orchestra; and Tseng Wenxiao, principal viola player of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble continues its activities by performing masterpieces for string quartet, outstanding and rare works, and contemporary Chinese works all over the world.The Dragon Quartet made an impressive debut with their masterpiece album of Schubert's "Death and the Maiden" & Dvorak's "America" (CCS 39417). Their second album features important Russian string quartets such as Shostakovich's No. 8 and Borodin's No. 2, which showcase their extraordinary technique and musicality. Tokyo M-Plus
