The world-renowned Belgian trumpeter Wim van Hasselt, who was a member of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (RCO) from 2009 to 2014 and has been active as a soloist as well as giving master classes in Europe, North America, and Japan, has released a new recording, " Tintomara - Works for Trumpet and Trombone" is now available on Channel Classics! Wim van Hasselt is the young leader of the Dutch trombone scene, having won the prestigious Gebvillet International Competition (1999) and the Toulon International Competition (2001), both of which are known for their difficulty. Jorgen van Rijn, principal trombonist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. The album is centered around "Tintmala" written by Folk Rabe on the theme of the Princess Thorn, written by Swedish writer Carl Jonas Rav Almqvist (1793-1859), with the female voice on trumpet and the male voice on trombone. Not only presenting the repertoire, the audience can also enjoy the many attractions of the solo, and the collaboration with ancient instruments, string instruments, and brass ensembles.This gorgeous duo album with world-class musicians from Belgium and the Netherlands is a super special new album essential for brass instrumentalists!
