Martin Walchroman, active with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, sings Bach unaccompanied live in a romantic way! Born in Innsbruck, studied with Schandor Weg and attended master classes with Menuhin and Mirshtein, and since 1988 has played with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe under various conductors, including Arnoncourt. Live. The performance was full of soft tenuto-like notes and boldly sung slow and fast, in a surprisingly romantic style that was a far cry from the mainstream of the recent past. It is not a sticky performance from beginning to end, but has a unique sense of powerlessness. Combined with the reverberations of the church, this is a truly rich Bach performance.
