Description:

Norwegian & Japanese Violinist, Sonoko Miriam Verde's Debut Album! Norwegian & Japanese female violinist of the moment, Sonoko Miriam Verde! She makes an impressive debut with Bruch and Barber's Violin Concerto & RVW's "Aged Hibari"! This is the latest collaboration recording between Norway's LAWO Classics and the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. Norwegian/Japanese female violinist of note, Sonoko Miriam Verde! Starting with Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1, one of the most famous works of the Romantic era, she makes her CD debut with an enchanting program of beautiful and sweet masterpieces for violin and orchestra, including Vaughan Williams' "Aged Hibari" and Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto. The CD will be released in the spring of 2012. Miriam Sonoko Verde is one of the most exciting young violinists to emerge from Norway in recent years. Born in Bergen to a Norwegian father and Japanese mother, she performed with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 9. In 2014, she won the Virtuoso Competition and was selected to represent Norway in the Eurovision Young Musicians. He is a recipient of the Equinor Talent Scholarship from the Crescendo Program, Norway's mentoring program for new classical musicians, under the guidance of Janine Jansen and Leif Ove Ansnes. Conducting is American violinist and conductor Joshua Weilerstein, who has served as assistant to the New York Philharmonic and artistic director of the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, and was named music director of the Phoenix Orchestra in Boston for the 2021 season. And the young talents of Norwegian female conductor Tabita Berglund, who made her debut in 2020 and has been appointed principal guest conductor of Norway's Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra since 2021, bring out the traditional sound of the prestigious Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.
