Following the well-received concerto collection by the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra (LWC1071), the Cologne WDR Symphony Orchestra, a prestigious orchestra of the West German Broadcasting Corporation, presents the Bassoon and Clarinet Concerto! The bassoon concerto is performed by Ole Christian Dahl, a Norwegian native who is currently a professor at the Mannheim School of Music and principal of the WDR Symphony Orchestra. It is conducted by Karl-Heinz Stefans, former principal clarinetist of the Berlin Philharmonic and now a conductor. The Clarinet Concerto is Thorsten Johans, who was the assistant principal clarinetist of the Essen Philharmonic and is currently the principal clarinetist of the WDR Symphony Orchestra.One of Norway's most respected conductors, Ivin Audran has served as principal conductor and artistic director of the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra for seven seasons and is a regular guest conductor with major Scandinavian orchestras including the Oslo Philharmonic, Bergen Philharmonic, Stavanger Symphony, and Gothenburg Symphony.
