Jazz pianist Alfredo Rodriguez, a favorite of Quincy Jones, returns to his roots with a blend of Latin, salsa, tango, and reggaeton on his latest album, "Coral Way. Coral Way" is released on Mack Avenue Records. Alfredo Rodriguez is a composer/jazz pianist born in Cuba in 1985. He is at the forefront of the jazz world as a genius whom the famous producer Quincy Jones fell in love with. He made his world debut in 2012 after catching Quincy's attention at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, and his song "Guantanamera" from his second album "The Invasion Parade," released in 2014, was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Arrangement category. He has been featured in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Wall Street Journal, and has appeared on NPR Music's "Tiny Desk Concerts.The new album, Coral Way, blends sounds from a variety of tropical-based genres, including Latin pop, timba, salsa, bachata, tango, and reggaeton, reflecting Miami's unique and diverse Latin community music background and drawing on Rodriguez's roots and newly learned experiences The band moved to Miami in 2019, bringing the intersection of the mainstream Latin music community and Latin jazz to this new location, which until now has actually been a less active exchange. With guest vocalists "Cimafunk" and "Alana Sinkey," the album bridges the gap between different genres, creating a hybrid Latin music that is a huge explosion of individuality. The Latin arrangement of the ninth track, "For Elise," is especially great!
