The Ensemble Cantin le Jeune, a French period ensemble formed in 1999 with the aim of bringing unknown trio works from the Baroque period into its repertoire, performs a collection of trio sonatas by Italian composer Michele Mascitti. The members of the ensemble, led by Jean-Christophe Lamacq, a violinist with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, are full of passion for ancient music, and they hold thematic concerts with commentary to introduce the splendor of ancient music to a large audience in Paris and elsewhere, He has been actively involved in the field. Michele Mascitti, a renowned violinist and composer who played a role in promoting the Italian style in France, settled in Paris for the second half of his life and became a naturalized French citizen. He took the name Michele Mascitti and is credited with performing in France at the Palace of Versailles under the patronage of Philippe, Duke of Orleans. His style is a fusion of Italian and French elements, characterized by rich harmonies.The French period ensemble will bring the beautiful art that would have been performed at the courts of Paris and other cities of the time back to the present day.
