Italian conductor Carlo Rizzi, who has a career as a choreographer at La Scala in Milan and has been highly acclaimed both in opera houses and concert halls around the world, including an acclaimed appearance at the New National Theatre in Japan, has transformed Puccini's masterpieces "Madama Butterfly" and "Tosca" into symphonic suites! Rizzi has been conducting the concert hall for the past 10 years. The National Opera of Wales, with which Rizzi has been in good relationship as music director for more than 10 years, and with which he continues to work as a conductor laureate, has been selected to present this highly anticipated production in 2024, the 100th anniversary of Puccini's death. Rizzi, who knows Puccini so well, has created and arranged this work with the orchestration alone, keeping the original orchestration to the maximum extent possible, without making any modifications to the vocal parts to cover them.The album also features two of Puccini's few remaining orchestral works, the "Symphonic Prelude" (including the original version before it was drastically cut) and the more dramatic and larger-scale "Symphonic Fantasy" (both in new revisions by Carlo Rizzi). ) and the more dramatic and larger-scale "Symphonic Fantasias" (both newly revised by Carlo Rizzi). Rizzi says he wants to celebrate the anniversary year by sharing Puccini's charms not only with those who love his operas, but also with those who are usually more drawn to the concert hall than the opera house.
