Jeremy Pelto's "The Art of Intimacy" Vol. 2, featuring a quartet with Victor Gould (p), Buster Williams (b), and Billy Hart (d), and a string ensemble, is a traditional recording by Rudy Van Gelderstadt, one of the leading trumpeters of the modern era. The Art of Intimacy," the second collection of acoustic ballads by trumpeter Jeremy Pelto! Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder Studio with beautiful natural reverb. As a leader, sideman, accompanist, and composer, he has explored almost every aspect and genre of jazz, from electric to bebop to free bop. While Vol. 1 featured a drumless trio, this new album features a string ensemble with a quartet at its core. The quartet consists of Victor Gould (piano), Buster Williams (bass), and Billy Hart (drums).String arrangements and conducting were provided by David O'Rourke, who received critical acclaim for his 2003 album with Pelto, "Close to My Heart" (MaxJazz). The recording was done by Rudy Van Gelder Studios in New Jersey. Maureen Sickler, who worked as Van Gelder's assistant engineer for many years, handled the recording. The recording is also remarkable for its masterful knowledge of the sound of acoustic instruments.
